HISTORY OF AL HUSSAN EDUCATION &TRAINING:
The tradition of Al-Hussan Education in Saudi Arabia began in 1956 when Sheikh Abdel Aziz Rashid Al-Hussan started the Arab Cultural Institute for Adult Education. In the following year Al-Hussan Modern Girls School, the first girls’ school in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia was opened. Today there are nineteen schools and other educational institutes throughout the Eastern Province rated among the best in Saudi Arabia, with enrolment of over 10,000 students.
Today his son Rashid Abdel Aziz Al-Hussan is the president of the Al-Hussan Group of Companies continuing his father’s vision of ‘Education for All’. The Al-Hussan International Schools are the most recent addition to the organization and although young in age they have grown steadily.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL
The resources and facilities at the school provide ideal learning opportunities to students. Some of these facilities are mentioned below:
The classrooms are spacious and can accommodate up to 22 students comfortably. Each classroom has a built in infrastructure for technology as well as a “smart board”. Interactive teaching is made possible with these technologies.
The school has a well-established and modern library which house an array of books suitable for all age groups and provide a serene atmosphere for reading. These air-conditioned libraries carry more than 1000 books on a variety of subjects and topics.
The school has 2 fully equipped computer laboratories; each lab offers the students an access to audio-visual and internet facilities.
One full-time registered school doctor provides first aid treatment and to maintain students’ health records.
For students to clearly develop and understand scientific concepts, it is essential to practically experiment whenever required. The school has 2 adequately equipped general science laboratories with essential apparatus, chemicals and required instruments. In addition to 3 specialized laboratories for Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects. For all the six laboratories, each laboratory is connected to a preparation room.
In addition to the laboratories, a science room is used to display the students work & give them the opportunity to do all the science projects & group work.
The school’s well-equipped art rooms provide the environment where students are facilitated to show their creativity through different mediums of expressions.
At the school, sport is an integral part of school activities, supported by necessary resources. RCIS is equipped with one gym, which is used for various sporting and cultural activities. There is a court for basketball and volleyball as well an outdoor football ground with artificial grass. 2 Qualified physical training instructors supervise students’ physical training and all classes have regular sports periods during the week.
The school is provided with 2 canteens, 1 cafeteria which serves hot meals along the school day & after school hours. The school is also provided with 2 masjids. The school Theatre is designed to host all school events whether academic or non-academic. A baby room is furnished and fully equipped to welcome staff siblings & students’ siblings under school age.
The school Buildings are all central air conditioned with fresh air ventilation system. The school is also provided with 360 degree cameras all over the hallways, inside classes. Buildings are also provided with smoke detectors & evacuation signs in addition to fire distinguisher hoses.

RCIS has a capacity of enrolling 1540 Students throughout the different stages it has. The share of every student in the outdoor & facilities areas is highly considerate.
RCIS was so keen to employee the best teachers who could meet the expectations of our Academic System. The job descriptions designed for each position ensured that all staff members are highly qualified & their previous experience suits our system. All teachers should hold a university degree related to each specialty. Some teachers are certified from Cambridge as teachers & trainers, others are master degree holders.
Recruitment Process took more than 1 year such whether in or outside Egypt. Chosen teachers were of different nationalities; Egyptians, Americans, Canadian, Moroccan & Moldavian. This diversity enabled teachers to share experiences, accept cultural differences & convey them to students.
After having intensive Professional Development workshops, induction program & day to day follow up from school heads & seniors, teachers are currently able to promote the students’ abilities and meet the school educational standards.
SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM:
RCIS applies an international standard and style of education that offers a rigorous curriculum aimed towards academic success at IGCSE, AS, A-Level. All courses are appropriate to students’ developmental stages, and a well-rounded education is offered.
Pre-K to Grade 8 programs are based on the International standards of both Cambridge and Common Core for the core & activities subjects. Arabic Language, Religious Education, Social Studies in addition to civics are following the Ministry of Education curriculum & assessment.
The curriculum of all other subjects have been developed in house and are vertically and horizontally aligned. Curriculum resources include American & British publications. Objectives and content of such course materials are in alignment with the subject curricula for the respective grades.
High School courses are from Cambridge International Examination Board, AS and A2 in all major subjects. American College Board Examinations such as SAT1, SAT2 and TOEFL are also taken during these years.
RCIS is applying the IB strategies on hands on activities and in process of Authorization to enable Students in Grade 11 and 12 to have the option to apply to take the IB Diploma Program as well.
On completion of Grade 12 and meeting the school graduation requirements students will obtain the High School Diploma.
The sequence in curriculum ensures that the expected outcomes of learning of each grade build on those of the previous grade level.
